Barry Mitchell scored a goal in the first half and two in the second as the Panthers shut out Charleston Southern, 3-0, Saturday night at Albion Millis Stadium.

The Panthers improve to 1-3-1, 1-0-1 in the Big South. CSU drops to 1-4 (0-1).

Mitchell's hat trick was the first time a High Point player has scored three goals in a game since the Panthers moved up to Division I.

Eric Lona recorded his first shutout of the season with five saves for HPU, while CSU's Jack Ward stopped three shots.

Matt Wood tallied two assists, while Kenzo Tochiki got the other assist.  The Panthers outshot the Bucs 16-8.

The Panthers visit Davidson next Saturday night.  Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm.
