North Carolina State staved off four match points and rallied to win a thrilling five-game match at High Point Tuesday night at the Millis Center.

The Wolfpack picked up its first victory of the season by a score of 22-30, 30-14, 20-30, 30-27, 21-19.

HPU (0-9) led the pivotal Game 5, 10-5, but couldn't hold on. The Panthers had four match points, but NC State (1-8) fought off all of them, and finally took the decisive game on one of Maya Mapp's team-high 16 kills.

Sarah Ensminger had 14 kills and 15 digs for the Wolfpack, while Lindi Sheppard added 49 assists. Mapp also recorded nine blocks.

Tracyann Pryce led High Point with a monster 25 kills and five blocks. Kimberly Wright added 17 kills, 10 digs, and three aces for the Panthers.

HPU travels to Macon, Ga., for the Mercer Invitational beginning Friday.
