Box Score Five different Wake Forest players scored in double figures as the homestanding Deacons cruised past High Point, 82-32, on Monday night at Joel Coliseum.
The loss put the brakes on HPU's three-game win streak.
The Deacons used a 23-0 run and held the Panthers scoreless for nearly ten minutes in the first half en route to the victory.
The Panthers were ice-cold from the floor, hitting a mere 19 percent of their shots in the first half and 23 percent for the game.
Meanwhile, Wake torched the nets at a 54-percent clip while racing out to a 45-15 halftime lead.
In the second half, it was more of the same as Wake Forest pounded it inside. The Deacons won the battle in the paint, outscoring the Panthers 42-10.
Johanna Bjorklund led all scorers with a career-best 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Eafton Hill also finished in double figures with 13 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
Misty Brockman led High Point (3-2) with 10 points.
The Panthers return home Wednesday night to face Furman in the Millis Center at 7:30 pm.
