One night after a dominating victory in the opening round of the 2002 Big South Women's Soccer Championship, High Point allowed a pair of first-half goals and never recovered in a 3-0 semifinal loss to Radford Friday night in Charleston.

The Panthers finish the season with a mark of 4-10-4.

Radford's Kelly Bertwell scored the first of her two goals in the 2nd minute off an assist from Nikki Porter. The Highlanders made it 2-0 in the 20th minute when Bertwell found the net again, this time off a corner kick from Sarah Rutherford. Radford led 2-0 at halftime.

While the second-seeded Highlanders barely outshot the Panthers, 10-9, they made the most of their opportunities. RU added an insurance goal in the 82nd minute when Jevne Reid scored unassisted for the final margin.

Katie Smith made four saves in goal for the Panthers, who whipped third-seeded Coastal Carolina 5-0 on Thursday night.

Beth Mork led HPU offensively with two shots in her final collegiate game.

Radford will face UNC Asheville Saturday night at 7:00 for the championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
