High Point started a five-match homestand on the right foot with a thrilling 3-2 victory over William & Mary Friday night at the Millis Center.

The Panthers edged the Tribe by a linescore of 21-30, 30-28, 30-26, 21-30, 15-12.

HPU (5-19) rallied from a game-one defeat to post back-to-back victories in games two and three before the Tribe (6-18) grabbed game four to stretch things the distance.

The Panthers found themselves down 9-5 in the pivotal fifth game before piecing together a 10-3 rally to take the game and the match, 15-12.

Tracyann Pryce posted a match-high 17 kills for HPU. Also in double-figures in kills for the Panthers were Lindsey Steinhaus (14), Kimberly Wright (13), and Terri Eriksen (11).

Wright tallied 25 digs defensively in a strong effort, and April Shields added 15.

For the Tribe, Caitlin Geraghty and Megan Eisenman each posted 16 kills. Setter Amy Owens added 19 digs and 47 assists. Geraghty tallied seven total blocks.

HPU hosts Big South rival UNC Asheville Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm. Admission is free.
