Dustin Van Weerdhuizen tied a career-high with 26 points and the Panthers shot 50 percent in the second half to take care of rival Elon, 73-63, Saturday afternoon at the Millis Center.
The victory helped High Point complete a doubleheader sweep of the Phoenix following the HPU women's 83-82 win earlier in the day.
High Point (8-11, 4-3 Big South) has won two straight, and overcame a 28-25 halftime deficit to continue its climb up the Big South leaderboard. Joe Knight (14 points) and Brent Halsch (11 points) also reached double-figures in scoring for the Panthers, who had led only briefly in the game until Halsch's free throw with 16:31 to play gave HPU a 35-34 advantage which the Phoenix weren't able to retake.
John Stonehocker tied a career-high for High Point with nine points and four blocked shots.
Gary Marsh led Elon with 16 points, while Brendon Rowell added 13 off the bench for the Phoenix (8-11, 4-3).
