T.R. Reed scored a career-high 27 points and Josiah James added 16 points as Birmingham-Southern ended High Point's three game win-streak with a 74-57 win in a battle of Panthers at Bill Battle Coliseum.
Since the game doesn't count in the Big South Standings (because BSC is a provisional NCAA Division I member), HPU (6-8, 2-0 Big South) is still technically undefeated in the conference.
HPU trailed 32-21 at halftime after its lowest first-half output of the season, but put together an 11-3 run following intermission to pull within 35-32 on Joe Knight's jumper with 16:05 left. But the Panthers wouldn't get any closer, as BSC shot 48 percent from the field and limited HPU to 37 percent shooting.
Jay Wallace led High Point with 14 points, and Ron Barrow added 11 points. Dustin Van Weerdhuizen was held to a season-low eight points -- the first time this year he'd failed to post double-figures.
