The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers rallied from a 1-0 deficit to defeat the High Point University Panthers 3-1 in a Big South Conference volleyball match Friday night in the Millis Center.
The Panthers fall to 2-15 on the season, 0-4 in the Big South Conference, while the Lady Chants imporve to 3-9 on the year and 1-1 in the conference.
Junior Tracyann Pryce (Kingston, Jamaica) led the Panthers with 17 kills, while junior Lindsey Steinhaus (Sugarland, TX) had 14 kills and sophomore Kamarsha Ryan (Virgin Islands) added 11. Junior Kimberly Wright (Naperville IL) had 46 assists and junior Casi Baker (Lamarque, TX) and Steinhaus had 16 digs each.
The Lady Chants were led by junior Katie Knutson (Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada) and her 17 kills while sophomore Sarah Bennett (Eagan, MN) had 13. Freshman Sarah Besemer (Spencer, NY) had 50 assists in the match and senior Elizabeth Laubenthal (Fairhope, AL) had 21 digs.
