The UNC Asheville Bulldogs downed the High Point University Panthers 3-0 in the first Big South Conference opener for both teams Friday night in the Millis Center.

The Panthers fall to 2-12 on the season,  0-1 in the Big South while the Bulldogs improve to a 1-8, 1-0 in the conference.

Junior Lindsey Steinhaus (Sugarland, TX) had nine kills to lead the Panthers, while junior Tracyann Pryce (Kingston, Jamaica) and junior Kimberly Wright (Naperville, IL) had eight kills each. Wright finished the match with 13 digs and 22 assists, and sophomore Kristy Flynt (Ft. Myers, FL) added 17. Junior Adrienne Moore (Wilmington, NC) led the Bulldogs with 15 kills and sophomore Kelly Budnik (New Berlin, WI) added 10. Freshman Bonny Sneed (Marietta, GA0 had 31 assists for UNCA. Junior Leslie Whitfield (Hurdle Hills, NC) had 12 digs for the Bulldogs.
