In their final home game of the season, the High Point Panthers went out with a bang and exploded for perhaps their biggest win over the year.
High Point battled back from an opening game deficit to take three straight from local rival North Carolina A&T and defeat the Lady Aggies 3-1 in a non-conference volleyball match Tuesday night at the Millis Center. The line score was 20-30, 30-26, 32-30, 30-26.
After dropping Game 1, the Panthers (7-26) jumped out to a 5-0 lead in Game 2, lost it, clawed their way back, and finally evened the match with a 30-26 win. The momentum carried over long enough for High Point to outlast A&T (22-15) in Game 3, and close out the Aggies in Game 4 for the victory.
Kamarsha Ryan led all players with 16 kills for HPU, while Casi Baker added 12 digs. A&T's Amanda Padilla had 14 kills and nine combo blocks to keep the Lady Aggies in the hunt.
