Rachel Malmbourg had 22 kills and 18 digs to lead Birmingham-Southern (11-16) past homestanding High POint 3-1 in a Saturday afternoon volleyball match at the Millis Center. The game scores were 25-30, 30-24, 30-22, 30-27.
High Point won the first game behind Kimberly Wright (19 kills) and Tracyann Pryce (16 kills, 12 digs), but BSC's Panthers battled back and took three close games to grab the match. BSC rallied from a 9-1 deficit in Game 4, retook the lead, and cruised the rest of the way.
Miljana Lazarevic had 19 kills and Danielle Graff added 11 kills and 15 digs for BSC.
Although Birmingham-Southern is a Big South Conference member, the match does not count in the league standings since BSC is a provisional NCAA Division I member.
