Winthrop setter Chirstie Davis had a career-high 10 klls to go with her 36 assists as she led the Eagles to a 3-0 Big South Conference victory Saturday afternoon over visiting High Point.
The win (30-24, 30-24, 30-17) improves Winthrop's overall record to 15-9 and in Big SOuth action to 7-2 while High Point drops to 4-20 and 1-8.
Joining Davis in double digit kills was Erin Lehman with 10. Lehman also had a game-high 14 digs while Julie Zschau collected 11 digs. High Point was led by Lindsey Steinhaus with 12 kills and a .417 hitting percentage. Kimberly Wright led the Panthers with 13 digs.
With Davis leading the way with a .600 hitting percentage, the Eagles hit .303 as a team for the match with 51 kills and also had 54 defensive digs compared to High Point's .207 percentage with 42 kills and 2 digs.
