Coastal Carolina earned a win at the CCU Soccer Stadium by beating High Point 2-1. This was their second win of the season, and their first win at home.
High Point (2-7-1 overall, 1-4 Big South) took a quick lead in only the second minute of play when Tiffany Impson headed Kerry Muscolina's corner kick past Chanticleer keeper Candice Doten. But in the 33rd minute of play, Jennifer Tafel found the back of the net on an unassisted effort in the box, and the teams went to the half tied.
Laura DiRenzo put the Lady Chants (2-8-2 overall, 1-3 Big South) ahead to stay, as she headed the ball past High Point keeper Cindy Watts in the 72nd minute. Jill DeLano served into the middle of the box on a corner kick, game winner as Coastal dominated the rest of the play.
