Seth Fernandez joined High Point University Athletics as an Assistant Director of Marketing in August 2026.
In this role, he assists with leading the development and execution of promotions and marketing strategies designed to promote the university’s brand, enhance its athletic programs, and engage both the campus and the local community. Leveraging his experience in sports marketing and fan engagement.
Before joining High Point University, Fernandez served as a marketing assistant with Liberty University Club Sports where he successfully coordinated and implemented strategic marketing initiatives for 3 major sports teams. These teams included hockey, men’s volleyball and men’s lacrosse. While he oversaw certain marketing elements, he also was responsible for developing relationships with sponsors and special groups throughout his time with the Flames. While with Liberty, Fernandez was able to sell out over a third of hockey games from 2024-2026 and helped record the single game revenue record in fall of 2025.
Prior to his experience with Liberty, Fernandez served as an intern with JMU Athletics. While he served with JMU he worked for 10 sports teams. He was responsible for assisting with sponsorship and partner relations for football as well as men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball and men’s soccer. During his time with the sponsorship team JMU was able to record a single season record attendance and single game attendance record in 2023. He assisted with marketing campaigns for spring sports such as men’s and women’s tennis, baseball, softball and lacrosse. He was able to bring in a record crowd for women’s tennis in 2024.
A 2024 graduate from JMU, Fernandez earned his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and a minor in General Business. In 2026, Fernandez completed his master’s degree from Liberty University in Sport Management.
Originally from Harrisonburg, Virginia, Fernandez now resides in Jamestown, N.C.”
