Gregg Weigel joined the High Point University women's soccer team as the goalkeeper trainer in 2015. Weigel returns to HPU after working with the men's and women's soccer teams from 2005-2009.
Weigel has coached extensively at the youth level and has been the PSA Piedmont Soccer Alliance Recreation Director and Academy Director since 2008.Â
Prior to his first time at High Point, Weigel served as the UNC Asheville men's and women's assistant goalkeeper coach from 2000-2004 and the Mars Hill College assistant and goalkeeper coach from 1999-2000.Â
Weigel graduated from Mars Hill with a degree in Therapeutic Recreation and Rec Administration. He was a three-year letter winner after playing one season at Mercer Community College where he won a National Championship in 1995.
Weigel holds a USSF "C" coaching license, a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and a NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma.Â
