High Point University Athletics

Sophia Shepard joined the High Point University Sports Medicine staff in August 2026 as an Athletic Trainer for the men’s and women’s track & field and cross-country programs.

Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Shepard earned a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Exercise Science from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Athletic Training from Penn State University. During her graduate education, she provided care for the men’s lacrosse and women’s gymnastics programs and completed immersive clinical experiences with Western Michigan University and the University of Minnesota ice hockey programs. Shepard is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
