- Hooker was a four-year varsity golfer for Thad Lambert and Jon Boyd at Lebanon High School
- His career low round was a 67 and his lowest nine-hole score was 32 and averaged a 74 for his career
- Three-time all-state golfer and two-time state runner-up
- Was an all-conference caliber guard averaging 11 points per game for his career in basketball
