HIGH POINT, N.C. – High Point University will be hosting its third annual basketball block party downtown High Point at the intersection of N Elm Street and Church Avenue, where the Stock & Grain Food Hall is located. The FREE event will take place on Saturday, October 10 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

"High Point University basketball is thrilled to head back to the downtown social district for the Basketball Block Party," HPU Vice President and Athletic Director Dan Hauser said.  "This will mark our third year of the event, and we love seeing the community turn out to celebrate our championship level student-athletes.  Fans get the opportunity to meet up close the players on a men's basketball team that have won 87 games over the past three years which is #5 in the nation.  Our women's basketball team has won three straight conference championships and back-to-back NCAA Tournaments.  Downtown on October 10^th will be the place to be in the city of High Pont for a fun family day of FREE music, prizes, and HPU basketball!"

All community members are invited to meet the HPU men's and women's basketball players, spirit squad members and Prowler. The teams will participate in practice activities on an outside court installed downtown before signing autographs for fans.
 
Attendees will have a chance to enjoy snacks, beverages and stock up on merchandise that will be for sale. Head coaches Flynn Clayman and Wyatt Foust will be available for interviews following the event. Fans can catch the reigning Big South Conference champions for an exhibition match against UNC Wilmington on Saturday, October 17 at 2:00 p.m., and on Monday, November 2 when the women welcome Lees-McRae for a matchup at 7:00 p.m.
