CHARLOTTE, N.C. — High Point University Athletics placed 309 student-athletes on the 2025-26 Big South Conference Presidential Honor Roll as the Panthers had 84.66 percent of their eligible 365 student-athletes on the honor roll list, the conference office announced Wednesday.
 
The Big South Conference had 77.49 percent of eligible student-athletes earn Presidential Honor Roll status for their work in the classroom. HPU (84.66 percent) finished third among conference schools, trailing first-place Longwood (85.77 percent) and second-place Radford (85.04 percent). USC Upstate (78.15), Winthrop (77.78 percent), UNC Asheville (77.56), Presbyterian College (72.36), Gardner-Webb (70.20), and Charleston Southern University (65.79) rounded out the full-member institutions.
 
The Big South had an all-time high 294 student-athletes receive Commissioner's Award distinction in 2025-26 for having a 4.0 GPA. Gold Award scholars (3.75-3.99) totaled 703 while another 560 received Silver Award (3.50-3.74) accolades in 2025-26 for a combined total of 1,557 student-athletes with at least a 3.50 GPA last year -- 67.11 percent of all Presidential Honor Roll members at or above that threshold.
 
To be named to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll, student-athletes must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or better for the recently-completed academic year, and this past season, 2,320 out of 2,994 eligible student-athletes achieved the benchmark.
