Men's Basketball Announces 2025-26 Non-Conference Schedule

Panther Fans Will Have 11 Opportunities to see HPU in Action at the Qubein Center

HIGH POINT, N.C. – With a new leader in charge, the High Point University men's basketball team has scripted its 2025-26 non-conference schedule for the upcoming season. After a historic 2024-25 season, the reigning Big South Tournament and Regular-Season Champions will return to action on November 3rd for college basketball's opening night. Panther fans will have the luxury of watching HPU at the Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena and Conference Center 10 times before the Big South regular season begins at the New Year.

Along with the non-conference home schedule, HPU will play three neutral sites games and one away game at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

"We are excited to announce our 2025-2026 non-conference schedule," first-year Head Coach Flynn Clayman stated. "We have a program record 19 home games this year, including our exhibition contest and Big South Conference regular-season games. We welcome our first-ever Missouri Valley and A10 opponents to the Qubein Center in Southern Illinois and La Salle. Additionally, two neutral site contests within driving distance against great regional programs, Furman and App State, which will give our fans a lot to look forward to."

Before the regular season, High Point will play two exhibition games in the month of October, one on the road at UNCW on the 18th and another inside the Qubein Center on the 25th versus NC A&T. UNCW was the 2025 CAA Tournament Champions after posting a 27-8 overall record. This will be the 19th meeting between the two teams, with the most recent matchups during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. HPU has not defeated UNCW since 1976. Matching up with NC A&T, High Point is 4-0 against the Aggies in its last four meetings.

On opening night, High Point and Furman will tip-off on Monday, November 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the Rock Hill Sports and Event Center in the "Field of 68 Opening Day Marathon". This will be the Panthers and Paladins' first matchup since the 2022-23 season and the fifth meeting between the teams since the 2003-04 season (according to High Point's record book). HPU has only defeated Furman once out of the four meetings back in 2022, the same season the Paladins earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament.

High Point will host two home games during the second week of November. The Panthers welcome Division III Averett University on Saturday, November 8 for Homecoming Weekend. HPU played Averett a season ago in an exhibition matchup and will play the Cougars for just the third regular season matchup. High Point will then host Jacksonville University on Tuesday, November 11 for a mid-week matchup at the Qubein Center. This will be the third overall meeting between the Panthers and the Dolphins, as Jacksonville returns to High Point for the first time since the 2000-01 season. JU finished the 2024-25 season with a 19-14 overall record and competed in the CBI postseason tournament.

For the second consecutive season, High Point will faceoff with UAB but this time on the road at Bartow Arena on Friday, November 14. Last season, the Panthers defeated the Blazers 68-65 in front of a packed Qubein Center. UAB went on to finish its season with a 23-11 record, earning an invitation to the NIT postseason tournament

HPU returns to High Point, N.C. to hosts Canisius University on Monday, November 17 for the team's second matchup in the past three seasons at the Qubein Center. High Point defeated Canisius 78-70 in its last meeting in 2023-24.

High Point will participate in the second annual Boardwalk Battle at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida during the weekend of November 20-22. This will be High Point's first time participating in the Boardwalk Battle and the program's second time playing at the Ocean Center in the past two seasons. More information about the Boardwalk Battle will be released at a later date.

Closing out the month of November, High Point returns to the Qubein Center for a contest against Western Carolina University on Saturday, November 29. The purple teams will matchup for the 76th time in program history, dating all the way back to 1934. HPU is 6-1 against the Catamounts since becoming Division I in 1999, with the Panthers' most recent win at the Qubein Center during the 2023-24 season.

Kicking off December, the Panthers welcome Southern Illinois and NJIT in the same week to High Point for the first time. High Point and SIU will compete on Wednesday, December 3 before a quick turnaround against NJIT on Friday, December 5. The Panthers have matched up with both teams on one occasion prior, as HPU defeated SIU a season ago on the road, 94-81 and fell to NJIT in 2007-08, 76-53 in the NIT Season Tip-Off at a neutral site in Seattle, Washington.

On Sunday, December 14, High Point and Appalachian State University will battle for the second consecutive season at a neutral site in Hickory, N.C. During the 2024-25 season, the Panthers and Mountaineers tipped off at the Novant Health Fieldhouse where the Greensboro Swarm compete, with HPU taking home the win, 65-59 after trailing by 15 points late in the first half. Last season App State went 17-14 overall and 10-8 in the Sun Belt Conference.

Closing out the non-conference slate, the Panthers finish strong at home with four straight games at the Qubein Center.

HPU welcomes Division III Mary Baldwin University on Tuesday, December 16 for a first-time matchup before hosting La Salle University from the Atlantic 10 Conference for another first-time matchup. La Salle finished the 2024-25 season with a 14-19 overall record and advanced to the second round of the A-10 Tournament.

HPU will then welcome the 2024-25 America East Champions, Bryant University, to the Qubein Center on Monday, December 22 for a first-time meeting. The Bulldogs had their own historic season last year with their first-ever America East Championship to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in Division I program history.

The Panthers close out the 2025-26 non-conference slate with a game against Division III Pfeiffer University on Sunday, December 28, making it the third matchup between the teams in the past four seasons. High Point has won by a 30+ scoring margin in both matchups.

"We look forward to continuing to make the Qubein Center arguably the best home court advantage in the country," Clayman added. "The past couple seasons we have held a 32-3 home record with only one loss in regulation by one possession. Let's keep this place rocking Panther Nation!"
