Head Coach Aaron McGuiness: "It was a good win, a solid performance. It was something we've been seeking since the beginning, so credit to the girls who have been working hard and continue to work hard. It's paid off for us. It was nice to see the goals and multiple goal scorers and they were good goals as well. I was very pleased with how well we did."
The first goal was like déjà vu as DeHaven and Garmey teamed up for their second goal of the season. This one came via a corner kick as Garmey took the team's sixth corner of the first half and placed it perfectly for the DeHaven header.
It was a lead the Panthers never surrendered. Nine minutes later, Murphy subbed in and immediately found the back of the net on a screamer from outside the box.
HPU had 12 shots in the opening 45 minutes alone while the Wolves had four, including their lone shot on goal.
Aubrey McKessy, who received her second start in goal, secured the clean sheet thanks to an impressive save at the end of the first half.
The Panthers took the 2-0 lead and built on it after the intermission. In the 64th minute, Haghgoo tapped in her first goal via a beautiful feed from Garmey. Andruczk followed nine minutes later as Resker's pass set her up to launch a banger just outside the box and solidify the 4-0 victory.
"It was really good to see four different people score tonight," DeHaven said. "We have only scored one goal over the past three games so that was a main focus of practice that we've been working on this week. We've also been working on shutting down other teams, so getting that shutout today was important. It was good just to see those things come to fruition and we played well as a team. It was a really good team win."
In a dominating victory, the Panthers out-shot the Wolves 17-5 and attempted 10 corners to their two.
Up Next: The Panthers head to Blacksburg, Virginia for a match versus the Hokies Sunday, Sept. 1 at 5 p.m.
