HIGH POINT, N.C. – High Point University's Jefferson Amaya has been named to the College Sport Communicators Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team, the CSC announced ahead of the NCAA College Cup.
 
The 2023 Academic All-District Men's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
 
In his sophomore season, Amaya finished as the Big South Offensive Player of the Year as well as this CSC Academic All-District accolade.
 
Amaya was a key part of the Panthers offense. He has started all 18 games he played this season, scoring five goals with six assists. Amaya helped the team to all their conference wins with four Big South Conference goals and four assists. He led the Big South in conference game points (12) and was a two-time Big South Offensive Player of the Week winner. Amaya was named #96 on the TopDrawerSoccer Midseason Top-100 Player list. Prior to his sophomore season, Amaya was listed to the preseason all-conference team.
 
The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
