HUNTINGTON, W.V. – The High Point University women's soccer team tied with Marshall to open the regular season on the road. With overtime recently being abolished in regular season games, the match ended with a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes of regulation play.
The Panthers scored first as
Skylar Prillaman found the back of the net in the 25
th minute and took the 1-0 lead into halftime.
Marshall countered early in the second half to tie, but
Bri Davis scored in the 53
rd minute on a feed from
Sam Gerhart to retake the lead.
HPU had a chance to take a 3-1 lead late in the match as Prillaman had a shot ricochet off the crossbar in the 79
th minute.
A late Marshall goal forced the tie at 2-2 in the 83rd minute.
