Bri Davis found the net on a feed from
Axelle Touzeau. But a late goal from Coastal in the 86
th minute gave the Chanticleers the 2-1 edge to take the win.

HPU is 2-2 against The Herd in matches that span from 2007 to 2019. Marshall has won the last two matches in 2018 and 2019 by a total score of 4-1. The Panthers' last win over The Herd was a 1-0 victory in High Point on September 17, 2017.

About The Herd
Marshall played two exhibition matches in the preseason with Eastern Kentucky and Bellarmine. The Herd returns a pair All-Conference USA third-team selections from a season ago in midfielder Kat Gonzalez and forward Morgan White.

The McGuiness Era
2022 marks the first season for head coach
Aaron McGuiness and his two assistants,
Kate Ward and
Tori Collar. McGuiness comes to HPU after spending five seasons as an assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University.

After defeating Campbell in the Big South Tournament Championship, the HPU women's soccer team advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in five years. The Panthers faced No. 1 Virginia in the first round.

Panthers Tabbed Second in Preseason Poll
HPU was picked second in the Big South Preseason Coaches' poll behind 2021 tournament runner-up, Campbell. The Panthers received three first-place votes in the poll behind the Camels' seven.
