The High Point University men's basketball team (7-9, 1-1) continue Big South play on the road on Wednesday (Jan. 19) as they take on Charleston Southern on the road in the low country. Tipoff is set for 7:00 pm. HPU heads into the contest coming off its first Big South win of the year against NC A&T.

Charleston Southern is 3-13 on the season this year and is looking for its first Big South win going 0-4 so far in conference play. CSU is coming off a tough five-point loss to reigning Big South Champion Winthrop.
The Bucs nearly defeated the Eagles behind 18 points from Claudell Harris Jr. the freshman from Hahnville, La.
Last Time Out
HPU handed the NC A&T Aggies their first conference loss of the season by a score of 78-71 in their inaugural Big South meeting on Saturday night in the Qubein Center.
John-Michael Wright led the way for the Panthers with 28 points on the night. HPU improved to 1-1 in the Big South.

HPU is coming off its second consecutive game of finishing with a shooting percentage of 50% or better.
Chairman of the Boards
Zack Austin leads the Big South in rebounding he averages 8.0 per game which is also the 83rd most rebounds per game in the nation. Austin recorded 23 rebounds in two games alone last week.
The Wright Way
Wright is averaging 19.7 points per game which leads the Big South and gives him the 28th highest points per game average in the nation. Wright is currently 7th all-time on the Division-I HPU scoring list with 1222. He is 37 points away from moving into 6th and surpassing Adam Weary.
Tubby and the Three
The Panthers are shooting at 36.7 percent behind the arc, which is the 56th highest three-point percentage in the nation. This is the second time since his 1998 National Championship winning team that
Tubby Smith has coached a team in the top 100 of three-point percentage. High Point (37.8, 32nd, 2021-22) Minnesota (39.9, 9th, 2009-10).

Austin is second in the Big South and 18th in the country in blocks per game with an average of 2.87.
