The High Point University women's soccer team (0-4-1) travels to Richmond, Virginia to face the University of Richmond (1-4) for its fourth road match of the year on Thursday afternoon (Sep. 9th) at 4:00 PM. This is the first time HPU has played against Richmond. It will be a quick turnaround for HPU as they will play their third game in seven days as the Panthers host James Madison (1-4) on Sunday (Sep. 12) at 1:00 PM in Vert Stadium.

Matchup History with A-10

This is HPU's first time challenging Richmond but it marks the fourth time The Panthers have played an A-10 school. This is the second A-10 team HPU will have faced with all three other games against A-10 opponents coming against VCU. The Panthers have faced Davidson nine times in regular-season games in program history, but no meetings have occurred while the Wildcats have been A-10 members. The Panthers did face Davidson earlier this season in an exhibition where HPU was victorious 3-0.

A Look at Richmond

The Spiders are 1-4 this season with their lone win coming against Longwood where UR won 1-0. Richmond has scored five goals on the season. Jessie Prillaman leads Richmond in scoring with three goals on the season. She scored against Maryland, Longwood, and Liberty.

Matchup History with James Madison

HPU leads the series against the Dukes 1-0 meeting one time previously in 2018 where the Panthers won 1-0 in Harrisonburg, Va. Alex Denny scored to give HPU the 1-0 victory.

A Look at James Madison

The Dukes are coming off two games against Virginia Tech and #3 Virginia. The Dukes dropped both contests losing 3-2 to the Hokies and fell 2-0 to UVA last Thursday and Sunday. The Dukes will be heading to Vert after a game on September 9th with UNCG. JMU has three players with two goals on the season in Lexi Vanderlinden, Ebony Wiseman, Hannah Coulling.
