The High Point University women's soccer team (5-0) will be back on the road this weekend as they face Charleston Southern (1-1-1) on Sunday afternoon. The Panthers look to continue their strong start to the season, most recently coming off of a commanding 6-1 victory over Gardner-Webb.

Offensive Explosion
The Panthers are off to their hottest start in program history with a 5-0 record through the first five games. The Panthers have been outshooting their opponents 88-25, scoring 18 goals, also a program-best through the first five games of the season. HPU's scoring offense is currently ranked seventh in the nation averaging 3.60 goals per game.
Salome Starting off Strong
Salomé Prat is coming off of the first multi-goal game of her collegiate career. On Wednesday night the freshman scored two goals to help lead the Panthers to a victory 6-1 victory over the Bulldogs. Prat now leads the team in scoring with five goals on the season. She has also been named Big South Freshman of the Week twice this season.
Mullins Makes Weekly Honors
Mackenzie Mullins has played nearly every minute of the season. Mullins and the defense saw their fourth straight shutout of the year as they held UNC Asheville scoreless on Saturday night. Mullins and company held UNC Asheville to only one shot of any kind in the entire game as well as only one corner kick. Mullins added an assist on a beautiful lob to Salomé Prat who scored.
Brick Wall Defense
The Panthers are heading into Sunday with four clean sheets in five games. The team has only surrendered one goal on 25 shots in the previous five games, with only 14 of those shots being on target. Morgan Hairston has been in goal for the Panthers making 13 saves over the previous five contests.
Road Warriors
High Point has not lost a regular-season conference game on the road since October 13, 2018.
Across the Bench
- Charleston Southern is coming off of a 1-0 victory over Winthrop. Bri Robinson scored in the 67th minute to secure the victory for Buccaneer's first conference win of the season.
- The Buccaneers finished the 2019 season with a 7-10-2 record. The blue and gold made it to the Big South quarterfinals and fell to HPU by a score of 1-0.
- Charleston Southern is led by Jose Gomez who is in his first season as the head coach of the Buccaneers.
