The High Point University women's soccer team (8-7-2) will begin their postseason run as they open up the Big South tournament with a semifinal matchup against Longwood (8-7-4) on Thursday afternoon at Vert Stadium.

Attending the Game

When coming to cheer on the Panthers in their semifinal game against Longwood on Thursday, Nov. 4th parking can be found at the College Village shopping center. From there fans can cross the street and make the short walk to Vert by accessing Panther Drive. There will be no shuttles and all campus parking will be unavailable.

History with Longwood

HPU is 21-3-3 against Longwood all-time. This will be the second time in the past two weeks in which the Panthers and the Lancers meet. The last time the two teams played in Farmville, VA, HPU came out with a 5-2 victory. Skyler Prillaman led the way for the Panthers with a hat trick. Emily Mashinski and Juliette Vidal also scored in the victory.

A look at the Lancers

Longwood is entering Thursday afternoon's game with a 6-2-2 record in the Big South regular season. The Lancers are coming off of a 2-0 quarterfinal victory over Gardner-Webb on Saturday night. Danielle Toone currently leads the Lancers in points on the season with five goals and four assists.

Last Time Out

The Panthers wrapped up the regular season with a thrilling 2-1 victory over UNC Asheville last week. The Panthers scored two goals in the final five minutes of the contest to secure the victory. Juliette Vidal and Emily Mashinski each scored a brace.

Fontaine on Last Time

"It wasn't our prettiest performance but we found a way to win and that's what matters. We created a lot of chances but just couldn't find the back of the net. Credit to Asheville for putting us on the back foot to start with. They have had a tremendous season. I am glad we have some time to clean up some things before the semifinal game. The environment we experienced today is what you expect in the championship part of the season and that's what today was. Proud of the fight we showed today as we will need that going into the tournament."

Up Next

The Big South Finals will be played on Sunday, November 10th at the highest remaining seed in the tournament.
