High Point Kicks off Big South Play Against Charleston Southern

HIGH POINT, NC- The Panthers host Charleston Southern University on Saturday afternoon in their first Big South Conference game of the season. The Panthers are returning to The Vert for their first home game since September 2 when they defeated UNCG with time expiring in overtime.

FAMILY WEEKEND
  • Shuttles will be provided for fans to and from the game starting at 3 pm at the College Village Shopping Center.

  • The Panthers will be wearing gold laces as they Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer. High Point is partnering with Go 4 the Goal, Go 4 the Goal's mission is to help kids with cancer achieve their goals. To donate visit: Go4thegoal.org

  • Dating back to the 2006 season, High Point holds a 10-4 record against Charleston Southern, including six-straight wins at Vert Stadium.
  • The Panthers had a 9-game winning streak against Charleston Southern from 2011-2017 before dropping last year's contest 0-2 in Charleston.

  • Kyle Levesque currently leads the Panthers with 2 goals so far in her senior season, including a penalty kick goal in the Panthers' last contest at Marshall.
  • Senior goalkeeper Talia Klimes recorded 4 saves in the game against Marshall, bringing her total up to 38 saves this year.
  • Freshman Emma Schossler continues to be a threat offensively, recording 2 shots on goal at Marshall and 4 total in the season, tied for a team-high along with Levesque.
  • The Panthers are generating chances and look to capitalize against Charleston Southern, after outshooting Marshall 12-7 in the second half of their last contest.
The Buccaneers
  • Charleston Southern comes into High Point off a 0-2 loss to College of   Charleston on Wednesday, in what will be their third road game of the season.
  • The Buccaneers currently have three multi-goal scorers on the year, with Kylie Doster, Elise Borys, and Zari Hayes all having 2 goals heading into conference play.
