Women's Soccer Faces Nationally Ranked Test In No. 11 WVU

HIGH POINT, N.C. - After falling on the road at Elon in a 1-0 loss on Sunday, High Point University women's soccer looks to pick up its first win of the 2019 campaign this Friday against the No. 11 team in the country, West Virginia University. This weekend's match will be the Panthers' first trip to Morgantown since 2012, playing the Mountaineers for just the third time in program history.

MATCHUP HISTORY
• High Point University trails West Virginia in the all-time series, holding a record of 0-2-0 against the Mountaineers all-time
• The Panthers' are 1-2-0 overall when playing in the state of West Virginia, having defeated Marshall 3-1 in Huntington back in 2007

THE PANTHERS
• High Point took a 1-0 loss to Elon last Sunday, giving up the lone goal of the match early in the second half after holding Elon scoreless in the first
• Redshirt freshman keeper Morgan Hairston made her first career appearance for High Point, recording a save after subbing in during the 65thminute. She combined with starter Talia Klimes for four stops in that match.
• Newcomers Chloe Le Franc and Keagan Bragg each earned the first starts of their HPU careers against the Phoenix
• Defenders Allie Reagan and Shaylyn Owen each played a full 90 minutes at Elon, they've been on the pitch for every minute of the Panthers' 2019 season

THE MOUNTAINEERS
• West Virginia (1-1-0) is coming into the match after suffering its first loss of the year at No. 3 Stanford on Sunday
• After winning the Big XII Soccer Championship in 2018, West Virginia came into the year ranked No. 11 nationally, with senior goalkeeper Rylee Foster earning 2019 Preseason All-Conference honors
