The first place High Point University women's soccer team (8-6-1, 7-0-1 Big South) returns to Vert Stadium as the Panthers host their final home regular-season game of the year against Winthrop (6-5-1, 4-2-1 Big South) on Saturday (Oct 19.). The only undefeated Big South team, HPU looks to keep their hot streak going in Vert Stadium. Be sure to arrive early as the first 200 fans will receive a black High Point shirt as we "black out" Vert on Saturday night. 

 Matchup History

  • The Panthers lead the series with the Eagles 11-6-4, with their last meeting at Vert Stadium resulting in a Panther overtime victory as High Point won in overtime 3-2.
  • Winthrop was victorious in the matchup against High Point last season 2-1 in overtime. 

Panther Notes

  • High Point used a three to zero goal run in the second half to power the Panthers to a 3-1 victory over Presbyterian College on Wednesday night. Keagan Bragg, Sam Gerhart, and Juliette Vidal all scored in the Panthers 3-1 victory.
  • With her game-winning goal against PC Sam Gerhart tied Ashlyn Kearney for the team-high in goals. 12 Panthers have combined for 25 goals on the season.
  • High Point's 25 goals are the third most scored in the Big South this season. The Panthers lead the conference in penalty kicks as they have scored a Big South best 4 goals off of PKs. 
  • The Panthers have 16 assists on 25 goals this season. Sam Gerhart and Juliette Vidal are tied with a team-high 3 assists each this year. 

 Across the Bench

  • Winthrop comes into Vert Stadium riding a four-game win streak, in their last time out the Eagles won 4-1. 
  • Natalie Royyards and Gabi Hull lead the Eagles in scoring with 5 each on the year. 
  • Winthrop is right behind HPU in goals scored with 23 which puts them in 4th place in the Big South.
