Pinkerton Named Assistant Director of Athletic Communications

HIGH POINT, N.C.—Mark Pinkerton has been named a High Point University assistant director of athletic communications.
 
Pinkerton will be the primary media contact for the Panther men's soccer, women's soccer, baseball and track and field programs.
 
"I am excited to have Mark join our communications staff," HPU assistant athletic director for communications Tom Fenstermaker said. "Mark brings valuable experience with multiple sports at the institution and conference level. His abilities, along with his creative outlook on graphic design and social media, will benefit the HPU athletic department and our teams greatly."
 
Pinkerton joins the High Point University staff in 2018 after working the previous year at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. While working in Corpus, Pinkerton primarily covered Islanders baseball, in addition to women's basketball, women's soccer, cross country and track & field.
 
Before moving to South Texas, Pinkerton spent a year at the conference level, again covering baseball, volleyball, cross country and track & field with the ASUN in Cartersville, Ga.
 
A graduate of East Carolina University (BSBA) and the University of Texas (M.Ed.), Pinkerton also earned experience working in the UT Athletics Department, serving as a secondary contact for Texas baseball and working with Longhorn football, volleyball, swimming & diving and track & field.
 
A native of Grafton, Virginia, Pinkerton is a staunch supporter of DC sports and Bundesliga Club F.C. Nurnberg.
