High Point Notes:
• The Panthers finished non-conference play with a 1-0 victory over Marshall on Sunday. Senior Bri-Jean Charles netted her first goal of the season in the 74th minute for the game-winner.
• Senior Alex Hank and junior Emily Lyon split time in net and combined to make two saves for the clean sheet. It was HPU's third shutout of the season, all coming via 1-0 scores.
• HPU held Marshall to six shots, the lowest total for an opponent this year. The Panthers have outshot their last two opponents 25-17 after being outshot in the first eight games, 140-44.
• High Point has scored just five goals in its first nine games, tied for the fewest in the Big South. It's also the lowest total through nine contests since Marty Beall's first season in 2009 (1 goal in 11 games). That year, HPU ended up winning the Big South tournament and advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
• The Panthers are the defending Big South regular season champions and are looking to win back-to-back regular season titles for the first time in school history.
• HPU has used a different lineup in every match this season. Only four players (Lloyd, Micciche, Rolfe, and  Rombach) have started every game.

Longwood Notes:
• Longwood enjoyed a 5-3-1 record during non-conference play. Like HPU, the Lancers have also faced Marshall (W 2-1, 2OT) and UNCG (W 1-0) during the non-conference season.
• Maria Kirby has played every minute in goal and leads the conference in GAA (0.64) and save percentage (.857).
• Emily Mothersbaugh leads Longwood with a pair of goals despite not starting a single game. She is tied for the team lead in points (4) with Emilie Kupsov (1 G, 2 A).
• The Lancers were selected 5th in the Big South preseason poll after advancing to the league semifinals a year ago.

Series Notes:
• The Panthers and Lancers are meeting for the 17th time in school history and for the ninth time as conference foes.
• HPU was 1-0-1 against Longwood last season, battling to a 0-0 draw in the regular season before winning the conference semifinal 1-0 in OT on a goal from Becca Rolfe.
• The Panthers are 1-2-0 in Farmville as conference opponents with the only win coming in the 2013 Big South tournament.
• HPU is 5-1-2 under Marty Beall in Big South openers with the lone loss coming at Longwood in 2015.
