"We didn't get off to a good start and while we battled and fought throughout the game, we couldn't get things going our way, so we have to regroup and get focused on the next game," HPU head coach Scott Cherry said.

Wofford led 24-9 with 9:01 remaining in the first half, but the Panthers fought back to cut the lead to 34-26 at halftime. The Panther were only 3-13 from the field, but hit seven of their last nine shots in the first half.

In the second half, the Panthers used a 7-2 run to close the gap to five with 14:26 left in the game at 40-35, but the Terriers came back with an 8-2 run of its own to reopen the game.

Wofford was led by Fletcher Magee, who hit six 3-pointers and scored a game-high 27 points.

The Panthers return to action Tuesday when they travel to Cullowhee, N.C., to take on Western Carolina at 7 p.m.
