High Point Notes:
• The Panthers are one of four remaining unbeaten teams in the Big South following a 2-1 overtime victory against Radford on Saturday. Senior
Paige Rombach scored the winning goal in the 99th minute on a chip-in from the right side.
• Senior goalkeeper
Alex Hank saw her personal scoreless streak end at 341:24 on Saturday against Radford. Dating back even further, Hank allowed a goal for the first time in nine Big South regular season games, a scoreless stretch of 746:02.
• Nevertheless, Hank was named the Big South Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week. She combined to make 11 saves across two games last week and now leads the conference in save pct. (.941) and GAA (0.30) in Big South games.
• As a result of Hank's prowess, HPU leads the league in GAA and total saves (17) through three conference contests. High Point is one of three teams in the league to post two shutouts through the first three Big South matches.
• The Panthers have found their offensive footing in conference play, tying for the league lead in shots through three games with 46. HPU has posted double digit shots in five straight games after doing so just once in the first seven contests. Senior
Becca Rolfe is second in the Big South with 10 shots in three games.
Charleston Southern Notes:
• Charleston Southern enters Wednesday's match unbeaten in the Big South as well after wins over UNC Asheville (3-0) and Presbyterian (3-1), and a draw with Gardner-Webb (1-1).
• The Buccaneers are unbeaten through three conference games for the first time since 2010 when CSU started 5-0-1.
• Jordan Newman paces the team's offense with 12 points (5G, 2A). Sidney Doherty (2G, 2A) and Lydia Frierson (2G, 1A) have also contributed multiple goals.
• Alyssa Dellacqua has played every minute in goal, and is second in the Big South in save pct. (.841) and third in GAA (1.12).
Series Notes:
• The Panthers and Buccaneers are meeting for the 25th time in school history, and for the third time in the last two seasons.
• HPU won both matchups a year ago, 3-1 at Charleston Southern and 1-0 in the Big South Quarterfinals at Vert Stadium.
• High Point outshot CSU by a combined total of 46-15 in the two matches.
Bri Jean-Charles, Michele Micciche, Bailey Beattie, and
Paige Rombach scored for HPU.
• The Panthers have won nine straight games against the Bucs since 2010. HPU has allowed just two goals in that time frame.
