HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's soccer team continues its season-opening road swing through the Triad area on Sunday when the team heads to Elon, N.C., to take on the Phoenix of Elon University at 7 p.m.
The Panthers opened the season with a 0-0 road draw at UNCG on Friday. High Point outshot the Spartans, 19-11, and held a 7-5 edge in shots on goal in the contest. Junior

Elon enters Sunday's contest at 1-0-0 after earning a 2-0 win at home over Charleston Southern on Friday. The Phoenix got goals from Grace Bennett and Sydney Schilling while keeper Taylor Mohr made three saves to pick up the shutout win. Elon was picked eighth in the CAA Preseason Coaches Poll after finishing with a 9-8-2 mark last season.
High Point is 2-13-5 in 20 all-time meetings with the Phoenix. The Panthers picked up a 3-0 win at home over Elon in the two teams last meeting back in 2014.
