Panthers faces #5 Longwood in Big South Semifinals

#1 High Point Notes:
            • The top-seeded Panthers advanced to the Big South Semifinals with a 1-0 win over #8 Charleston Southern at home on Sunday. Junior Paige Rombach scored for HPU as the team improved to 12-5-2 overall.
            • High Point clinched its third Big South Regular Season Championship a 7-1-1 mark in the Big South. It is the fewest losses in Big South play since the team went 8-1-2 in 2012.
            • Redshirt-senior Kelsey Perrell was named the Big South Attacking Player of the Year and was one of four players to earn All-Big South honors. Perrell and juniors Becca Rolfe and Paige Lloyd were named to the first team and junior Alex Hank was named to the second team. Rolfe was also named the Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year and head coach Marty Beall was named Big South Coach of the Year.
            • High Point had a program-high three players named to the Big South All-Freshman team as Allie Reagan, Alex Denny and Kyle Levesque were all recognized.
            • Perrell leads HPU with 21 points on a team-high nine goals and three assists. The redshirt-senior tops the Big South in goals scored and is tied for the conference lead in points.
            • Hank has started all 19 games for HPU in goal and has a 0.99 goals-against average with a .788 save percentage. In 15 games against non-Power 5 opponents she is 11-1-2 and has allowed just four goals while posting nine shutouts. She led the conference with a 0.22 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage in Big South games.
            • Hank set the record for career wins in the High Point Div. I record book this season with 27 wins through her first three years. She is also second in career shutouts with 19.
 
#5 Longwood Notes:
            • Longwood advanced past Gardner-Webb in the Big South Quarterfinals on penalty kicks after a 0-0 draw on the road. The Lancers hit four penalty kick shots compared to two for the Runnin' Bulldogs.
           • Four Longwood players earned All-Big South honors this season. Amanda Spencer and Sydney Wallace were named first-team All-Big South and Maris Kirby and Janese Quick were named honorable mention All-Big South. Taylor Alvey was also named to the Big South All-Freshman team.
           • Spencer, Quick and Wallace are tied for the team lead in goals scored with four each. The trio accounted for 12 of the Lancers' goals this season.
            • Kirby has started all 19 games between the pipes for Longwood. She is second in the Big South with a 0.83 goals-against average and an .848 save percentage.
 
Series Notes:
            • High Point is 9-3-3 in 15 all-time meetings with Longwood.
            • The Panthers and Lancers played to a 0-0 draw at Vert Stadium in their meeting earlier this season. HPU outshot Longwood, 16-5, and allowed the Lancers just one shot on goal compared to seven for High Point.
