Camel City EntriesHIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's track & field team splits up for a pair of meets this weekend at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem and the Penn State National Invitational in University Park, Pa.
Penn State National InvitationalA total of nine Panthers will make the trip to Pennsylvania to take part in the prestigious PSU competition. Seven of the student-athletes suit up for Friday events, while the remaining two compete on Saturday.
HPU will send a strong distance medley relay team to compete Friday at 6 p.m. The quartet includes seniors
Nick Hula and
Paul O'Donoghue, junior
Vinny Todaro and freshman
Alejandro Torres. O'Donoghue and Hula were part of the DMR team that set a new school record in the event last season at PSU (10:03.27).
Also on Friday, senior
Dennis Crawford races in the 60m hurdles preliminaries at 6:30 p.m. Crawford is the defending Big South champion in the event.
Fresh off his school record performance in the 60m (6.82) at the Jan. 16 Wake Forest Invite, sophomore
James House looks to one up his mark in the preliminaries of the event at 7 p.m. House also races in the 200m dash on Saturday at 1:05 p.m.
In field events, the pole vault duo of senior
Austin Miller and sophomore
Todd Uckermark compete in the event at 4 p.m. Miller is the defending Big South indoor champion in the vault.
Saturday will feature senior
Will Narramore in the triple jump. The Nashville product will compete in the event beginning at 3 p.m.

Camel City ClassicThe majority of the men's track & field team will make the short trip to the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem to compete in the Camel City Classic. The event will be attended by some of the world's top track & field talent, including 2012 Olympic gold medalist Ashton Eaton (decathlon), 2013 world champion Brianna Rollins (100m hurdles) and two-time Olympic medalist Bernard Lagat (1500m).
Action will begin Friday at 1 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m.
Senior
Jim Wilson and freshman
Britton Mann will represent the Panthers in the throws events this weekend. Mann will compete in the weight throw on Friday at 1 p.m., while Mann and Wilson suit up for the shot put on Saturday at 9 a.m.
Also in field events, junior
Isaiah Henderson will head to JDL to make his mark in the pole vault on Friday at 3 p.m.
In sprints action, senior
Andrew Kuras and freshman
Sean Banda will race in the preliminaries of the 60m dash at 2:45 p.m. on Friday. Banda put together a solid HPU debut of 7.04 seconds on Jan. 16 at the Wake Forest Invite. The duo also will race in the 200m dash on Saturday at 9:50 a.m.
Freshman
Patrick Van Der Cruyssen will compete for the Panthers in the 800m run on Friday at 4:30 p.m., while fellow freshman
Larry Perez is HPU's lone competitior in the 400m run at 7 p.m.
In distance events, redshirt-senior
Jeff LaCoste returns to the track after redshirting the 2014-15 season. He will race in the 3000m on Friday at 8:50 p.m. alongside fellow seniors
Benji Szalai and
Cody Seymour.
