HIGH POINT, N.C. – The No. 4-seed High Point University women's soccer team will take on top-seeded Liberty in the Big South Semifinals on Friday, Nov. 6, at 4 p.m., in Greensboro, N.C., at Bryan Park. The contest will be a rematch of last season's conference championship.

High Point advanced to the Big South Semifinals with a dominant 5-0 win over Longwood last weekend. Redshirt-junior Kelsey Perrell, a first-team All-Big South selection, had two goals and an assist to lead the HPU attack. Sophomore Bri Jean-Charles scored twice and junior Jenny Marshall added one goal for the Panthers.

Jean-Charles leads High Point this season with 15 points on a team-high six goals and three assists. She is one of three HPU players with double-digit points this season for HPU. Perrell and sophomore Michele Miciche are tied for second on the team with 11 points each. Perrell had four goals and three assists while Micciche has five goals and one assist.

The shutout of Longwood was High Point's 13th clean sheet of the season, one shy of the conference single-season record. The Panthers are the top defensive team in the Big South and are currently fourth in the nation with a 0.38 goals-against average. Sophomore Alex Persiani was named the 2015 Big South Defensive Player of the Year and she enters Friday's contest with a 0.41 goals-against average and a 0.899 save percentage, both of which would set new Big South single-season records.

Liberty is 11-7-1 overall and 8-2-0 in the Big South in 2015. The Flames picked up a 2-0 win over eight-seeded Winthrop to advance to the Big South Semifinals. Crystal Elmers and Amanda Barrett both found the back of the net for Liberty.

Liberty is led offensively by the duo of Jennifer Knoebel and Brittany Aanderud. Knoebel is tops on the squad with 18 points on a team-high five goals and a team-high eight assists. Aanderud has 12 points on three goals and six assists. They are the only two LU players with double-digit points on the season.

The Flames come into Friday's game on a streak of four-straight shutouts. Liberty has earned consecutive clean sheets over Winthrop, Coastal Carolina, Longwood and Winthrop again. Second-team All-Big South selection Holly Van Noord is 11-7-1 in goal with a 0.85 goals-against average and nine shutouts on the season.

Liberty earned a 1-0 win over High Point in the teams' regular-season meeting in Lynchburg, Va. The only goal of the game came from Knoebel in the sixth minute of play. High Point was outshot in the game by a 15-8 margin but had six shot son target compared to just two for the Flames. HPU is now 10-15-3 in 28 all-time meetings between the two teams.

High Point is 6-3-1 in Big South Semifinal matches, including a 2-1 double-overtime win against Coastal Carolina at Bryan Park last season. The Panthers and Flames have met six times in the Big South tournament and HPU is just 1-4-1 in those six meetings.
