HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's track & field program announced Wednesday that sprinter
James House will complete the Panthers' 2014-15 recruiting class.
House, a Cary, N.C., native, will suit up for HPU beginning with the 2014-15 indoor track season.
"We are pleased to have a short sprinter join our group this year," assistant coach
Nate Thiesfeld said. "James came on late his senior year and ran well when it counted. We are lucky that we were able to sign him late in the season. The future looks bright for James with High Point University Track & Field."
House competed for Cary High School from 2010-14 and holds the school record in the 100m dash, 4x100m relay and 4x200m relay. He put together personal bests of 10.7 seconds in the 100m dash and 21.9 seconds in the 200m dash during his high school career. As a freshman, House ran the last leg in the Emerging Elite 4x200 meter relay while helping to set a national record at the 2010 New Balance Outdoor Nationals.
House joins a 2014-15 class that includes distance runners
James Quattlebaum (Greenville, S.C.) and
Ryan Udvadia (Shoreham, N.Y.), and pole vault specialist
Todd Uckermark (Warwick, N.Y.).
