Third-seeded Liberty got a goal from Lauren Zealand early in the first half as the Lady Flames defeated No. 6-seeded High Point, 1-0, in the final game of Day One of the Big South Women's Soccer Championship.
Zealand's goal came just 6:25 into the match on a breakaway down the middle of the box. The Flames' defense kept High Point off the board despite several quality attempts by the Panthers in the second half.
High Point keeper Cindy Watts had a game-high six saves.
