Kristine Mengle socred her team-leading 12th goal of the season, and added an assist on Stephanie Lundberg's game-winning goal in the 56th minute as visiting UNC Wilmington recorded a shutout of High Point, 2-0, at Albion Millis Stadium.
Lundberg got a pass from Mengle in traffic just inside the 18-yard box and pushed a shot past High Point keeper Cindy Watts for her third goal of the year. Mengle added an insurance goal in the 84th minute on a header.
The Seahawks (9-7-1) held a 17-10 shot advantage over the Panthers (3-11-1), although the teams tied 5-5 in shots on goal. UNCW goalie Megan Fitzsimmons grabbed five saves en route to a shutout, while Watts stopped three shots.
High Point freshman Carolyn Bader, the reigning Big South Conference Player of the Week, had a team-high two shots on goal.
