High Point University Athletics

Tyler Schatz joins the High Point family after spending 2019 at Northern Arizona University and the previous six seasons with Virginia Commonwealth University.

Schatz has primarily worked with the teams' goalkeepers but also has had a hand in team video, defensive schemes and team travel. 

Schatz has had a pleasure of working with top conference players at both institutions and has helped multiple GKs to defensive player of the week awards and all-conference nods. Before starting as a full-time assistant, Schatz was a graduate assistant for two seasons at VCU where he earned his Master's in Sport Leadership while assisting with the women's soccer program.

Prior to his time at VCU, Schatz played at Kenyon College where he is still currently ranked in the top three for goals against average for both a single season and career while earning his degree in History and Statistics.

After graduating from Kenyon, Schatz moved to Spain where he played in the professional ranks for one year with Club Deportivo de Cieza.

Schatz currently holds his USSF C license as well as United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Goalkeeper Diploma.
