Getting to Know: Forward Bri Jean-Charles

Throughout the summer, get to know more about the seniors of the 2017 High Point University women's soccer team.

Next up, forward Bri Jean-Charles from New City, N.Y.

What is one piece of advice for the incoming players?
Don't take a single thing or moment for granted! I know coming in it feels like you have four years and that's a lot of time, but before you know it, it's over and you can't put off doing things. Realize that everything you GET to do as a student-athlete isn't guaranteed and let that fuel you to max out on any and everything.

What has been your most memorable moment as an HPU soccer player?
Not just winning the Big South Championship my freshman year, but the games and talks leading up to it. Feeling everybody's passion in the things people were saying and doing was incredible.

Where is your favorite spot on High Point University's campus?
My favorite spot on campus is definitely the hammocks in front of Slane. My days during the semester are always pretty packed, but whenever I do have some time that's usually where I am. Especially because I don't live on campus so instead of going back to the village, I usually lay there listening to music or reviewing notes. On the weekends I like to lay there in the morning listening to sermons online.

What are your plans for when you graduate?
After I graduate with a degree in exercise science, I plan on going to nursing school to get my doctorate in nursing.

Do you have any pre-game superstitions?
I do listen to the same last song before putting away my music before the game and also say the same prayer before kickoff, but I think that counts as more of a routine than a superstition.
