What is one piece of advice for the incoming players?
My advice to incoming players would be to never take one moment of your journey for granted. From the recruiting process to 9 hour trips to Florida when you're in charge of making sure the sandwiches are all ok and they end up sliding down the entire aisle of the bus and spilling all over the front, each of these moments is a memory you'll look back on and wish you had back.
What has been your most memorable moment as an HPU soccer player?
My most memorable moment as a High Point University soccer player was saving 2 penalty kicks my freshman year to win a Big South Championship. I think the best part of that day was looking into the stands after making the saves to see the hundreds of fans and my mother jumping up and down hugging Dr. Qubein.
Where is your favorite spot on High Point University's campus?
My favorite spot on campus has to be the amphitheater. I love to stop by these spots in between classes and enjoy a cup of coffee!
What are your plans for when you graduate?
After graduation (with a degree in exercise science), my plans are to attend graduate school in a cardiovascular perfusion program.
Do you have any pre-game superstitions?
I am huge on superstitions before games! After we break from our huddle and I head to my goal, I always step on the penalty spot with my left foot and head to my right post. I knock the post 2 times with my left hand, then the other post two times with my right hand. When I'm walking between the posts, I say a little something to my granddaddy to watch over us as we play that game and to let everyone play to the best of their abilities. Sometimes if I'm lucky I'll see a sign like a red cardinal flying by and know for sure that he heard me!
