Full Schedule

HIGH POINT, N.C.—The High Point University men's basketball team released its 2021-22 Big South Conference schedule on Wednesday (Sep. 14). The Big South slate includes home dates with reigning 2020-21 Big South Champion Winthrop for the conference home opener, the newest Big South member North Carolina A&T, and in-state foes UNC-Asheville and Campbell. Panther fans will have eight chances to see HPU challenge Big South opponents at home in the Qubein Center, a $170 million-dollar state-of-the-art facility that will be one of the finest collegiate basketball facilities in the country.

Before the Panthers open Big South play on January 5th, HPU will open the Qubein Center for the first time for men's basketball on Thursday, November 4th at 7:00 PM with an exhibition game against Mount Olive. The Qubein Center is named after current High Point University President Nido Qubein and his wife, Mariana Qubein. President Qubein is an alumnus of High Point University and has been president at HPU since 2005. President Nido Qubein began his American college education at the University of Mount Olive and completed his undergraduate degree at High Point University. To represent President Qubein's important ties to both universities, the Trojans were selected as the first game to open the Qubein Center.

After HPU's last non-conference game of the season against Kentucky on New Year's Eve, High Point opens up Big South play with Winthrop on Wednesday, January 5th, as the Eagles will be the first Big South Opponent to face the Panthers in the Qubein Center in its inaugural season. Winthrop was the Big South Tournament champion in 2020-21.

The Panthers experience their first Big South road trip of the season that weekend as High Point takes on Longwood on Saturday, January 8th before then heading to Spartanburg to face USC Upstate on Wednesday, January 12th. The Panthers faced the Spartans three times last season going 2-1. On Saturday, January 15th, High Point hosts the newest Big South member North Carolina A&T as the Aggies make the short trip from Greensboro. After a short stint at home, HPU is again on the road for a pair of away games.

On Wednesday, January 19th, the Panthers head to the low-country to play Charleston Southern; on Saturday, January 22nd, HPU heads to the most northern school in the Big South with a trip to Hampton, Virginia to face the Pirates. On Wednesday, January 26th, HPU hosts Radford as the Panthers return home to the Qubein Center. HPU wraps up the month of January with a trip to Buies Creek, N.C. to face Campbell.

HPU opens up the month of February with its first stretch of back-to-back home games as Gardner-Webb comes to High Point on Wednesday, February 2nd, while High Point hosts UNC-Asheville on Saturday, February 5th. A midweek trip to Clinton, S.C. is in store for HPU on Wednesday, February 9th as HPU takes on Presbyterian College. After playing earlier in the season, Campbell comes to High Point for the second meeting between the two during the 2021-22 season in a marquee Saturday match-up for the Panthers at home on February 12th. Longwood makes its Qubein Center debut on Wednesday, February 16th. On February 19th, HPU travels to Radford then the Panthers return to the Triad and travel to Greensboro for their second game of the year with the Aggies on Wednesday, February 23rd.

Senior Night for the Panthers will be on Saturday, February 26th as HPU's last regular-season Big South contest will take place in the Qubein Center as the Panthers host Hampton.

For the first time since 2003, the 2022 Hercules Tires Men's and Women's Big South Basketball Championships will be played at a neutral site as The Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte will host Big South postseason play from March 2-6.

HPU starts its season on November 4th at 7:00 pm as the Panthers open up the state-of-the-art Qubein Center in a battle of Dr. Qubein's two former schools as HPU hosts Mount Olive.
