HIGH POINT, N.C. - High Point University women's basketball junior
Emma Bockrath has been named Big South Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Bockrath opened the week with a season-high 23-point outburst in HPU's 81-55 victory over Presbyterian on Tuesday and followed that up with another season-high performance scoring 25 in the 79-58 triumph at Winthrop. Overall, the guard hit 18-of-28 shot attempts to shoot 64.3 percent while adding 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 3.0 assists per contest.Â
Bockrath is the only player in the Big South who is averaging at least 10.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. She joins sophomore
Camryn Brown as the second Panther to win the award this season. In her career, the Dayton, Ohio product has been named Big South Player of the Week three times.
