What has the transition been like from high school to Division I lacrosse?
With the help of the staff at HPU the transition has been a great experience. We have been fully prepared for everything athletically and academically. The biggest difference is in how much we do. There is so much more time spent practicing and conditioning that it is harder to stay loose and limber but we have a great staff to help with injury prevention.
What drew you to High Point?
For me the biggest factor was Coach Torpey. He has a vision for our program and so far he has even exceeded my expectations. Having someone on campus like Coach Torpey who truly cares about us drew me in during the recruiting process.
What is it like to be part of High Point's first men's lacrosse team?
It is really an honor. Not many people have the chance to say they helped start a program and for me it is one of the biggest accomplishments of my life so far. I am so proud to say I am part of this team.
How would you describe yourself as a player?
I'm definitely not the most physical player, which is something I'm looking to improve, but I am a quick and shifty defenseman. I like to think of myself as a little pit bull that doesn't understand the difference in size. I treat every offensive player the same regardless if they're 6'6'' or 5'0''.
What other tools have you utilized at High Point?
The strength & conditioning staff at High Point is phenomenal. The coaches
Ryan Billings and Tim Wright are on call whenever we want to get in extra work and we have definitely seen the things they teach us translate to results on the field.
